The actor gobbles up food, roars with glee and finds himself deeply moved in this four-part travelogue inspired by the journey of Homer\u2019s hero. It\u2019s a real success of a show<\/p>\n
Here comes Richard E Grant, pounding towards us in his tiny leather jacket as he gesticulates wildly at his cobbled surrounds. \u201cWow,\u201d he gasps. \u201cLook at that.\u201d We look at that. It\u2019s Malta. Specifically, Malta\u2019s Grand Harbour: a sobbingly beautiful gateway to the Mediterranean and the sun-blessed starting line for Richard E Grant\u2019s Very Modern Odyssey, a four-part travelogue \u201cinspired by Homer\u2019s hero\u201d in which the veteran actor traces Odysseus\u2019s \u201cincredible journey\u201d while wearing a succession of increasingly voluminous linen trousers.<\/p>\n
Said tracing is not, however, an exact science. This is not one of those awful celebrity things in which our noble hero arms himself with set squares and a scholastic scowl before setting sail on a \u201cvoyage\u201d to uncover \u201cthe truth\u201d.<\/p>\n
