Despite their fast rise, the Manchester indie-pop band are happily going at their own pace. But what \u2013 if anything \u2013 did they learn from the advice of Duran Duran\u2019s Simon Le Bon?<\/p>\n
When Westside Cowboy played Later \u2026 With Jools Holland earlier this year, fellow guests Duran Duran offered some advice. \u201cNerves are just your mind telling you that you\u2019re about to do something extraordinary,\u201d Simon Le Bon told the band, who were \u201ccacking their pants\u201d. Le Bon\u2019s words didn\u2019t really help. \u201cI was hoping for some real advice,\u201d says vocalist and guitarist Reuben Haycocks, laughing. \u201cLike, where do I look?\u201d<\/p>\n
The Manchester band have had to learn the ropes quickly. By 2025, only two years after forming, they had won Glastonbury\u2019s emerging talent competition, supported Geese on the year\u2019s buzziest indie tour and signed to a major label. <\/em>\u201cWe\u2019d be lying if we said there wasn\u2019t a little bit of pressure,\u201d says vocalist and guitarist Jimmy Bradbury.<\/p>\n
