\u201cI get called grifter quite a lot\u2014so here I am grifting,\u201d Tommy Robinson states in one clip posted on social media.<\/p>\n

The Channel 4 documentary Tommy Robinson\u2014Where\u2019s the Money Gone looks into Robinson\u2019s finances and shows his dedicated commitment to this endeavour.<\/p>\n

The premise of the show is \u00adstraightforward\u2014what happens to the money Robinson raises in donations?<\/p>\n

As the figurehead of the fascist movement in Britain, with the capacity to mobilise hundreds of thousands, Robinson rakes in serious cash from his supporters.<\/p>\n

One document leaked by one of his former employee\u2019s shows his \u00adsupporters gave almost \u00a3425,000\u00a0in just two months in 2018. In the first two weeks of Robinson being in prison in 2018, at least \u00a3350,000 was donated to him.<\/p>\n

That hasn\u2019t stopped Robinson appealing to his supporters for money on an almost weekly basis. Yet these donations are extremely hard to trace as he often asks for cash or donations in cryptocurrencies. <\/p>\n

And, the handling of donations \u00adhappens through several companies that fail to file accounts at Companies House\u2014the official government agency that keeps company records. Three of these were liquidated owing money to revenue and customs officials.<\/p>\n

At one point, the day after a far right demonstration where Robinson calls for cash donations, police catch him trying to leave the country with \u00a313,000 in cash.<\/p>\n

The documentary reveals how donations frequently don\u2019t go where Robinson says they are going to go.<\/p>\n

Take his fundraiser for the family of Peter Lynch\u2014who died in prison after a court convicted him of \u00adviolent disorder during the 2024 racist riots.<\/p>\n

A member of Robinson\u2019s security team said that none of that money went to Lynch\u2019s family.<\/p>\n

In another instance, a \u00adsurvivor of the Telford grooming gang appeared in one of Robinson\u2019s films after he traced her. Robinson said any donations would go towards the \u00adsurvivors\u2014but she received \u00adnothing.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s using me,\u201d the survivor told the \u00addocumentary, \u201cI am very angry because I\u2019m sat here literally \u00adstruggling while other people profit from my pain and suffering.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you want to support survivors, don\u2019t support Tommy Robinson.\u201d<\/p>\n

Robinson has repeatedly claimed that he has been \u201cdebanked\u201d, \u00admeaning no British bank will \u00adprocess payments for him. But the documentary shows a bank account in Robinson\u2019s real name that he uses in legal documents\u2014Stephen Lennon\u2014that is open.<\/p>\n

This grifting isn\u2019t a new \u00adphenomenon. Robinson has a history of being dishonest about money\u2014in 2014 a court sentenced him to
\n18 months in prison after he pleaded guilty to mortgage fraud.<\/p>\n

Yet all this grifting is for a \u00addangerous cause. When the Channel\u202f4 journalist tries to get in contact with Robinson to ask him about his finances,<\/p>\n

Robinson responds with an enraged voice note. At one point Robinson declares, \u201cMy plans for the future, I\u2019m going to cause a fucking revolution.\u201d<\/p>\n
